Hi everyone,

I am very new to jewelry making but have been primarily making clay roses and I'd like to see them with a shiny finish. Due to the nature of the petals and lack of flat surfaces I can't see myself sanding/buffing. I sprayed one with an oil painting glossy finish I had laying around but the result was mediocre. Is there any sort of spray or paint that will give my roses a nice glossy finish?

Thanks!

Hi Michish,
I don't know of any spray that you can use on polymer, however... there is a product called Liquid Polyclay our stock# 84-758-10.
I think this will work great for the effect you want to achieve.  The best way to use it for your project would be apply a good layer of the
Liquid Polyclay to the rose & then use a heat gun to dry (cure) it. You can also use a toaster oven but I think it may not turn out as glossy.
Have patience when using the heat gun it will take about 2-5minutes to cure. Keep the heat gun moving from side to side about 3" above the
rose. You will first notice it get kinda dull then after another minute or so it will start to become glossy. You can apply many layers to achieve the desired
look. Hope this helps! If you have more questions just let me know I've been experimenting in polymer clay for many years now.
