Hello!

I loved the "How to make interchangeable magnetic jewelry with 1″ buttons" post in March on the rings & things blog, and I totally want to recreate the jewelry shown (I have  a 1" button maker), but I wanted to know what gauge/size ball chain and EuroPunch pliers were used. Then I can get my supplies and get to creating!

Thanks!

Hi hummingbirdcake,

Thanks for checking out Rings & Things' blog, and thanks for your compliment.

It sounds like you'd just pick out the right size of EuroPunch pliers for whatever you'll be stringing through the holes you punch.

I'm thinking since the biggest hole size of any EuroPunch pliers we sell is 1.8mm, and there's only one size of our ball chain that small, the blog post must be showing 1.8mm ball chain.

HTH!

The jump ring is the only part that needs to go through the hole made with the pliers, so either size will work.  I recommend the 1.25mm pliers
http://shop.rings-things.com/cart/pc/Tool-EuroPunch-Pliers-Round-1-25mm-Hole-2701p20484.htm

With a medium round jump ring like http://shop.rings-things.com/cart/pc/Jump-Ring-Round-5mm-White-1155p12278.htm you could use a couple sizes of ball chain.  http://shop.rings-things.com/cart/pc/Chain-Footage-Ball-2-4mm-100ft-White-525p30117.htm is our most popular size.
