To string flat pendant with central hole

Hi All from the UK! This is my first post!
I've strung some beads on beading wire with a flattish flower shape in the centre front. I secured the flower by running my wire through its central hole, through a little bead, back through the same hole, pulled it tight and then finished the stringing on the other side. However when wearing this simple necklace, the top of the flower flops forward revealing the wire underneath. Not a good look.
Since the flower 'sits' on the beads behind it as it flops, I tried stringing some tiny beads at this point but it hardly helped.
What am I doing wrong? Can this problem even be solved or is it as I suspect a problem that is inherent with a pendant which has a single central hole?

It sounds like this flower is more of a button style than a traditional bead or pendant, and they are trickier to use in necklaces.
It might work better off to the side, in an asymmetrical design rather than a centered design.
Anyone else have more ideas?

"it's difficult for me to get an idea of what it actually looks like but, here is a
flat stone pendant with a center hole
that I did some wire work to if it helps any?"
