The discussions on this are old, and you have new materials available, so hoping for your input again!

I am making a tube shaped pendant/slide of Swarovski bicone beads.  I sell them with a plated silver chain, but would like to also offer something a little younger looking.  I was thinking of using leather cord, but after reading Polly's input that it hangs stiffly, I'm not inclined to go that way.

Will the crystal snag on the rattail?  Do you have other suggestions?  I want to sell them with their choice of chain/cord, so I need ends that are small enough to slip through the pendant/slide.

Thanks!

Hi Polli,

You don't say specifically how large the opening of your slides is, but I would try offering magnetic cable chokers as an option:

If you would like to test the rattail, ask for a sample in your next order and we'd be happy to let you try it out.

When it comes of knotting long chain of stone beads, nylon is a very good option.. Long rolls of Nylon attached with needles are easily available in the market. Since nylon is a synthetic fiber, it doesn't stretch or fray. Nylon also comes in different colors and sizes. Most often,  size #4 is used. It seems to work well with 6mm and 4mm beads. For small beads, size #2 is preferable.
