Soldered chain links

Hi, I'm new to the site, and was wondering. Are the soldered chain links able to be opened? If I'm ordering chain that long, I want to be able to cut it down.

"Cut" is the correct word here.
Just cut the chain to the length you want with wire cutters. Some of the really heavy chain may require a heavy set of side cutters or even a jeweler's saw. The low cost of the chain when you buy bulk chain by the spool more than makes up for the few links you waste when you cut them.
