How in the world do you work these pliers?  What all do they do?  I know they are for wrapping, so any information is welcomed!!  Are these better then the 1/2 round-1/2 flat nose plier?

Hi!!

These pliers are a little daunting at first, but they really have a lot of features that are helpful in wire wrapping.  They don't totally eliminate the need for a selection of a few other pairs of pliers, but they do reduce switching tools when you just need to make a snip or a curl.

They combine the 1/2 flat nose -1/2 round nose concept...So yes, these are (almost) the same pliers with a few more features.  The 1/2 round tips are good for triangular curls, or half curves, however, you still need the standard full round nose pliers (or the really cool looping pliers) for even rounded loops.

The cutting section of this tool is pretty decent, but not quite as precise as a pair of side cutters.

My favorite feature of these pliers though, is the notch for square wire.  I love twisting square wire, but standard pliers can slip and leave nicks and scratches.  These pliers have a nice little square notch that holds the square wire tightly, so you can twist away.  It's even better if you have two pairs for even gripping of the ends of the square wire.

Hope this answers your questions.  Let us know if you need anything else.
