Here is the situation. I began with a login name of
VY and a password.
The next time I tried to log on to the forum, I couldn't...because the password was "incorrect". It was incorrect because there is another person with the login name of VY and of course my password was not his or hers. So I used the -need password- feature and received an email to change my password. That allowed me to log in with a new password, even though I was using the same VY. (I wonder what is going to happen to the other VY person, whose email address is different.) When I logged in, I changed my name to
Selma. But it turns out that this only changes the name that
appears in the forum. It doesn't change the name one uses to log on. (And by the way, there is another person with a forum name of Selma besides me.)
SO, I still can't log on in a normal way. I tried again just now. The way I got here right now was to repeat what I did above...I had a password change sent to my email address! I can't do that procedure every time I want to use the forum.
IF I try to re-register, I'm sure I'll get an error because my email address will show up as being used.
On the other hand, the system apparently doesn't prevent people with the same log on name from registering, which is a defect of it.
Please help me solve this conundrum.
