I registered for this forum (and left a post about using a kiln that hasn't been answered).  Later, when I searched for that post, I found another user with the exact same login name as mine.  I went to Profile and changed the name that appears in the Forum, but I cannot see a way to change the login name.  The next time I tried to log in, I couldn't (since my password is different from that of the other person).  I had to ask for an email to change my password in order to log in.
Can I get some help with this problem, please?

Real help will probably need to wait until Tuesday for your problem.
Except for the showroom being open Saturday, we are closed for the 3 day US  Memorial day Weekend.

Sometimes I can help with technical details but I've just returned from Czech Republic and don't have access to the areas to recreate your login.

I'll make sure our webmaster, Todd, sees your request.Sometimes he checks in on weekends but I don't know his schedule this holiday weekend.

Sorry for the delay.

Hi Selma.

There is no way to change your login name. I am unable to find anyone with your login in name. Could you point me to the post where you found it?

I see these other 2 posts by you.

Is it the stencil post that isn't yours? According to the forum it was posted by your account.

Here is the situation. I began with a login name of VY and a password.
The next time I tried to log on to the forum, I couldn't...because the password was "incorrect".  It was incorrect because there is another person with the login name of VY and of course my password was not his or hers.  So I used the -need password- feature and received an email to change my password. That allowed me to log in with a new password, even though I was using the same VY. (I wonder what is going  to happen to the other VY person, whose email address is different.)   When I logged in, I changed my name to Selma.  But it turns out that this only changes the name that appears in the forum.  It doesn't change the name one uses to log on.  (And by the way, there is another person with a forum name of Selma besides me.)
SO, I still can't log on in a normal way. I tried again just now.  The way I got here right now was to repeat what I did above...I had a password change sent to my email address!  I can't do that procedure every time I want to use the forum.
IF I try to re-register, I'm sure I'll get an error because my email address will show up as being used.
On the other hand, the system apparently doesn't prevent people with the same log on name from registering, which is a defect of it.
Please help me solve this conundrum.

Hi Selma,

The good news is, on checking I find just one member named "VY", and it's you.

Do you still want to change your username?

At the most involved, this could involve deleting your present account, then creating a new one - - But let's see how things are going for you now, and figure out a solution if still needed.

Thanks for patiently explaining what you want to us!
