I have a promise ring I'd like to put into a glass locket to wear as a necklace. My ring is 22mm(h) X 20mm(w) and has a 5mm thickness. Will it fit into the Round Glass Memory Box Pendant? The stock number is 55-702-11-1.

So far I've only found lockets that are a millimeter too small....thank you!!

The ring should  have no problem fitting in the memory box pendant; as a matter of fact, I'd be a bit concerned about how much it might bang around.
Offhand, I can't think of an attractive way to pad it or make it hold still, but I think you'd want to, to prevent damage to both the ring and the glass pendant.

I decided to put it on a necklace with a few other charms and made a trip to Hobby Lobby. It turned out beautifully. But I'm very new at making jewelry and fear the split rings used to attach the rings and charms to the necklace chain will not hold up. I clamped them as tight as I could without pinching them to the point of being bent but I'm wondering if a tiny bit of super glue over the split will help keep the charms from slipping off.

Do you think that's a good idea? I'm attaching a picture of the necklace I made.

Hi free2spynn,

My apologies for not finishing my last reply to you ... I am going through the forum today looking for things I might have missed and ... I remember starting this posting before but than having some computer issues and apparently I never came back and finished.

To answer your question about construction, I first need to check on the terminology. Split rings are basically miniature key rings - they are hard to get onto your item, but are very secure and don't need any extra support once they are in place. I think from your description, that instead of split rings, you used jump rings, which are a simple ring with a cut. Glue doesn't really help these, but there are a few tricks you can use to make them more secure.
1. Use oval jump rings instead of round jump rings. The cut is in the side, so there is less chance that the opening will be at the top or bottom (which allows your chain or other connective pieces to pull through).
2. Open and close jump rings by twisting the ends sideways, rather than opening the circle into an oval. That doesn't makes sense without an image to explain it, so look at the "Jump Rings" heading in the 3rd column of this "Finishing Methods Tips" page for an example.
3. Use the heaviest gauge wire that still looks ok with your design. Thinner wire pulls open easier.
