Im hoping somebody here may be able to help me or point me in the direction of somebody who can. I am trying to restamp a serial number on an old bike frame from around 25 years ago. Its made of steel and the font is quite specific but due to the age and condition of the steel its quite faint now. Does anybody know where i could source a stamping kit that would be able to handle the job and possibly with a similar font to the one i currently have

I recognise this isnt necessarily relevant to this forum , im just looking for some guidance

Many thanks in advance

Even if  you find the exact same size and font, I don't suggest trying to restamp the frame by stamping onto the old letters. More than likely you would mess up the old stamp. I had to restamp a VIN on a trailer tongue because welding repairs messed up part of the old VIN. I just stamped the old number near the original one.

If  you can measure the original letter size it will make it easier to find the same size.
The stamps we carry might work or you might be able to find a closer match at Harbor Freight or a hardware store.

Measure the heights of the letters/numbers to determine the stamp size. Standard, popular sizes are currently 1/16", 1/8" or 1/4". We sell those sizes (but you'd have to buy a few of them to meet our minimum order), and you should also be able to find those sizes at a hardware store such as Harbor Freight.
We sell our metal stamps for use primarily on copper and sterling sheet, but they are also suitable for harder metals such as steel; they'll just wear out faster if they're used on steel often.
