Hey, I've been having trouble with my MicroTorch model #MT-770, won't ignite.  Gas is flowing freely, just can't get the flame going unless I light it with a match.

I've contacted the company by email & cc'd you, but wondered if you've already encountered this problem & have any ideas?

I love it so much!!

I don't think we have heard of any problems like this. I am not familiar with this torch. But I would think the button mechanism that sparks the butane has to be blocked or broken. I will try and get a hold of our vendor to see if I can get a quicker response for you. **vendor is closed till tomorrow. Ill try tomorrow unless you find an answer by the time I get around to it.

Well, don't I feel stupid today! Oo

A friend who is handy with tools came by this weekend, and I gave him the torch to look at, telling him it wasn't working anymore.

He flicked it--and it worked!!

I asked him what he did, and he said "Nothing!"  I tried it, and it didn't work.  Hmmmmm...

But he pointed out I was trying to "click it" to light too fast.  He said there needs to be a little butane in the chamber to ignite.  By clicking it too hard & fast, there wasn't enough butane for the flint to light.

DUH!!!!!!

Abject apologies for casting aspersions on your fine product......    Tongue

Cheesy Operator errors are the cheapest to fix.
