I was looking for sterling silver crimps.  Why are there different thicknesses?  I get that you need to choose a size 0, 1 or 2 depending on your wire, but why are there different diameters?  Here's what is listed for a #2 size crimp:

1.  2 x 1mm, 3.3m long, 1.8mm outer, 1.3 inner

2.  2 x 3mm, 1.3 inner

3.  2x 2mm, 1.1 inner

I am confused, is it just personal perference?

That small (internal) variance -- 1.1mm and 1.3mm aren't very much different -- doesn't matter much, so really once you're at a #2 size crimp, you can use the style that you prefer the looks of.

Size 2 crimp beads

oops - modifying to add link to just the sterling silver size #2 crimp beads
