Hello,

first of all: Please excuse my bad English... I am from germany and I have questions about your silver plated disk and loop chains.

- Does "Silver plated" mean "plated with 'real' Silver" or just "silver colored"?
- For my costumers I have to know what kind of metal the "base-metal" is?
- And finally: There is a notice that the chains are lead free. But are they nickel free too?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,
Eva

Hello Eva,

Our silver plate chain is with real silver plated on basemetal chain.  The base metal used in our chain is either brass or steel and it is noted on our web site with each chain style.

Unfortunately our chain is not considered nickel-free by European standards.  Nickel is used in the plating process for silver plate, gold, plate, white (imitation rhodium) and gunmetal.  While nickel is not intentionally used in the plating process for antique copper and antique brass there may be residual nickel particles from the plating process.  Certain styles of chain are available as nickel-free but they are a special order only with a minimum of 250 meters and a lead-time of 90-120 days.

Thank you for your inquiry and please let me know if you have any other questions.

Joe

Some quick links to individual plated chain colors:

Silver plated bulk chain
White (imitation rhodium) bulk chain
Gold plated bulk chain
Yellow bulk chain
Copper plated bulk chain
Solid copper chain
Antiqued-brass bulk chain
Gunmetal bulk chain (This finish is black in color.)

The above styles of chain are sold on spools. Necklaces and bracelets with clasps already attached, are also available.
