Hi,
I'm new here and fairly new to beading but loving it. Does anyone know where I can find DIY tutorials on creating memory wire rings? I saw a design online of a ring made with memory wire and Swarovski crystals (absolutely gorgeous), but I'm not having any luck finding a tutorial to do it myself. Any guidance you can give me would greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi marilyn  in tn!
Welcome  to our forums!!

Memory wire has been around for a few years now. I don't remember seeing any recent tut's about using the ring version. However, a google search for  "memory wire rings" comes  up with a few. One is by Tammy Powley at about.com jewelry making at http://jewelrymaking.about.com/library/weekly/aa122102.htm.

I hope this is some help.

Memory wire is rather fun, because it so easy to use.

Just string beads on, and finish the ends either by gluing on a memory wire end, or by using durable round-nose pliers to twist each end into a loop.

You can even add dangling beads or charms to looped ends, but that might be overkill on a ring.
A good ring is normally 3-5 loops of wire.  (An ounce is about 200 loops, so you can make a LOT of rings with one ounce.)

Wow, we don't have any pictures of memory wire rings in our gallery! I'll see if we can fix that soon.  In the meantime, here are a few pictures that give some ideas.
This "Peppermint Pattie" bracelet uses the round memory wire ends:

This "Inferno" necklaces uses the cone-shaped memory wire ends:

And at the moment I can't find any that have looped ends ... so I'll try to make one like that soon, and get a picture up!
