I am looking to make a lanyard to hold a work badge... and, I'm told, a couple of keys! Can you recommend a plated chain that will work for this project?

These styles of chain
are all steel, very sturdy.
Many of these chain styles
would also work. If you see a style you like, let me know, and I'll tell you how durable it is.
