Hmmmm....  wax paper, might work out okay but I think the clay will stick like it does on the plastics.  I don't think that wax paper will leave any residue that will cause a problem. The teflon sheet that is available [R&T cat #87-051, 87-051-FT] is a woven fiberglass which is coated with teflon. It will take temperatures up to about 500F.  Because it is woven it breathes abit which allows the clay to dry and then slide off the sheet.  This also prevents your piece from warping as it dries. Works great!!

I see sugestions to use plastic or Teflon sheet to roll out ACS, but what about wax paper? Will that leave residue on the clay that will make it less workable?

Where does one get Teflon paper anyway?

I find that when I'm working a piece, that waxed or parchment paper will pull the very precious moisture out of the clay.

I use only the teflon sheets now. This means I have a box or two of waxed and parchment paper sitting around the workroom that I'm waiting for the big creative idea to develop on uses for them.  Teflon is a no brainer.
