Hello group - I am back.  Follow-up on my question regarding bracelet blanks.

I tried the styrofoam idea for securing the blank while gluing.  It worked great.  However, I used too much glue on a few pieces and now have a clump of glue/styrofoam on the back of my bracelets.  Is there any way to get the glue off the back?

When I ordered my blanks from Rings & Things I also ordered Epoxy 330 glue to use.

Thanks  ':notworthy:' JaniceA

Hi, Janice,

I've read suggestions that epoxies can be loosened up by exposure to moist heat, like boiling water.

Does anyone know if this is a solution that Janice can use?

Dave,

It's worth a try.  I will try dipping one end of the bracelet in boiling water and see if that will loosen up the glue/styrofoam!

Thanks - JaniceA

It's been a while (over a decade) since I last glued large batches. I remember getting bits of styrofoam stuck to my crystals or posts every now & then, and I'm having a hard time remember what I used to remove it.  I know it wasn't anything complicated. If finger pressure didn't remove enough of it, I believe I used a razor blade.  Be sure to hold carefully, and scrape/cut away from yourself. (Also, be careful of the angle relative to the glue join.)
