Hi all.....

Newbie here.

I live North of Spokane near Newport. Would very much appreciate some help with finding a metal clay class. I have searched Newport. No luck...

If someone knows of anyone offering classes in Newport, that would be ideal. Otherwise the North side of Spokane would be a big help.

Thanks and really looking forward to participating on the forum and learning from others here.

I am not sure if this is the best place to post this, but was not allowed to post in General Discussion, and got errors within another board. Hope this is ok until I get things figured out.

Hi TaoGem,
This is the right place, and the forum will probably let you post anywhere now too.  (There is a registration delay, because we manually process all applicants  -- we were getting too many creepy non-jewelry spam messages posted when the registration process was automatic).

We're at 304 E 2nd Ave, on the edge of downtown Spokane, and there is a link to a map on our Showroom page. We were planning on offering an art clay silver class or two this spring, but don't have one scheduled at the moment. Are you interested in a beginning, or more intermediate class?

We're also likely to be doing an Art Clay Silver "make it & take it" at our Anniversary sale this August.  But that's just a quick little 15-minute project.

Hi Polly !

Thanks for responding....

I am not sure how to answer about the level at which to start.

I am pretty good with my hands, quick learner and such...

I am also not entirely sure about what type of metal clay class yet as well.

It is sounding like some of the clays are rather expensive.

I suppose that the less expensive type of metal clay would be the place to start. Get comfortable with working with it before considering the more expensive silver type clays.

If I have that right? I think one of the clays are not an actual silver?

Ya...., I am about as green as they come!  '<img'>

I sure would like to get started just as soon as possible.

When you say "Spring", is that fairly soon?

If not, can you recommend how or where I can get a start on it sooner?

For the Spokane area, we're having a 3-day Level 1 certification class in July:

You might also want to give Spokane Art Supply a call. They might be having some more classes.
