SoftTouch is supposed to be knottable. Does anyone know if the TriCord Knotter can be used with SoftTouch?

Also, out of curiosity, can our other knotter (#65-950 from Beadalon) be used with Soft Touch?

Good question.  I'm not sure if SoftTouch works with the knotting tools. I will test it out this week and post the results.

I tried 0.014"  (21-strand) Soft Touch, and it works with the knotting tools, but bead cord works better.

I knotted 6 pearls using the knotter and Soft Touch, and then realized that none of my knots were tight enough.
The 2 main issues I noticed are:
- Have a raised work surface, so that it's easy to support the weight of your beads.  Otherwise, the slippery cord likes to pull itself into a knot too soon, and it's hard to keep it from kinking.
- It's tough -- but not impossible -- to pull the knots tight without kinking the wire that remains in my left hand (the rest of the strand that I'm going to be stringing on).

I'm going to cut it apart and try again. My original concern was that the cable wouldn't lay straight once knotted with the knotter, but it looks pretty good.

After my second try with the Beadalon knotter and Soft Touch: It's very tough to pull the knots tight enough to look good between beads and keep the strand smooth.  For a traditional knotted pearl necklace, I would stick with silk bead cord, rather than Soft Touch beading cable.
