Actually, it is semi-translucent, although it's hard to tell in the picture. The stones are a little milky (like a tablespoon or so of milk in a glass of water), with bright turquoise crazing.
I bought a strand, and used them for the feet of this little (about 3" wide) sterling wire basket at a class @ the Bellevue Bead Festival early this spring:

I'm pretty proud of my first little wire basket, so ssh! don't tell me about any uneven wrapping you might notice.
