My 11 year old son has shown a talent for making some beautiful polished stone necklaces. He put them on a satin cording we got at a craft store. In the catalog it says the cording will frey when used with jump rings. What should he use instead? Also, what is the best glue to attach the polished stones to the bead caps-E-6000?
Finally, I am looking for beads with a hole big enough to fit the satin cording, but seem to be looking in the wrong place. Can you help?

Thanks

There are not a lot of beads with large enough holes to string directly on satin cording. However, we do have some that work.

If you search our online store for +"large hole" +beads you will get all the beads that have a hole 2mm or larger.

You can narrow the search further by materials:
+"large hole" +beads +glass
+"large hole" +beads +metal
+"large hole" +beads +sterling
+"large hole" +beads +bone
+"large hole" +beads +gemstone

Use the "minus" symbol (-) to subtract materials or styles you don't want.  For example,
+"large hole" +beads +metal -sterling -trade -goldfilled -hematite -letter returns 8 pages of misc. basemetal beads, which are mostly inexpensive spacer beads.

For the satin-like cord (rattail), use items that are smooth inside, such as necklace tubes or necklace bails instead of jump rings.

Here are a variety of basemetal necklace bails.  (The styles at the end are for gluing.)
We also have quite a few new sterling bails, and a few GF tube beads / bails.

For beading materials and as a guy - I am very partial to the leather cording we have. Page 41 in the 2007 catalog or follow this link:

There is 1 mm and 2mm , the 2mm comes in a few colors
