Hey everyone I am new to this whole forum business! Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a 27 year old single parent with a lovely 3 year old daughter, who i am raising myself. She is also a big fan of jewelry. We sit sometimes at night and make jewelry and stuff together. Well besides that i will get to my point.

I need an expert or advanced persons knowledge to inform me a little bit more about this site, and what you think the quality of gems are. I have heard some good things about this site already and would love to purchase that specific stone i am linking you too. Thank you for your time! i look forward to posting more later on.

Ametrine is often a heat treated amethyst. From what I understand, the purple amethyst becomes citrine where it is treated with heat. Thus= ametrine.
I've been able to verify that this stone DOES occur naturally, but most available on the market is the heat treated variety. I suspect price will be a good indicator.
I don't have any experience with the site you are linking to so I can't offer much in the way of feedback there- but the gemstone in the image looks a little beat up along the front faceted edge to me. This may account for it's more reasonable price (comparing to others of that size).
Somewhere around here there lurks one Russ Nobbs. That man is a gemstone genius and can probably offer a better assessment for you as soon as he is able to read this post.
Good luck to you!
