There's a new version of this showing up at beading stops. Unlike the hardware store versions, which come in black or red (tool handle colors!), it's milky clear when it dries.

IT IS fantastic! It stands up to a surprising amount of abuse. I put it on my flat nose pliers, and can now hold tiny metal pieces up to my belt sander without burning my fingers! It melts a little in this use, but doesn't peel off too easily.

I hope Rings and Things will carry it.

We now stock it in BLUE!

Please check out ToolMagic on page A6[/url] of our Spring 2003 Supplement.

I really need to buy some of this rubbercoat stuff. I've been using a piece of tape over my pliers, it wears out after a while, but it was a quick solution. ':)'

Anybody else have good stuff to share, like this?

:icon_01: Our Customer Service department passed this excellent tip along:

"Just spoke with a customer who uses pliers on soft metals. She was looking for a way to prevent marks on the metals from the pliers. She says the nylon sleeves 'slip' when she is using them.

"She uses a product called Plasticoat. She gets it at the hardware store. It is a liquid plastic. She dips her tools into it. It takes about 4 hours to dry and she loves the results!

"I thought this was a great tip. The problem of 'marking' metal has been something our customers have commented on for as long as I can remember."

:icon_36: Stay tuned to see if Rings & Things starts selling this product...

Thanks!

It sounds great. All our buyers are in Tucson right now so I can't bug them about it ... YET. But some version of this goo has my vote! Hopefully we can put this in our Spring supplement mailer.
