I am going to start making stretch watches...but I want to use the best Stretch elastic out there...any suggestions?   I use the Stretch Magic in a 5mm or a 7mm but I really want something much stronger..I plan on string swarovski and sterling on it...so it needs to be strong...also i do not want to crimp the stretch elastic...what would be the best glue to use on my knots?

If you are going to the trouble of buying watches and lovely Swarovski cystals, just a hint.....use beading wire and add about 3/4" of sterling silver
chain and clasp  so that it will fit many sizes.  I make jewelry and a friend was raving about how she purchased a watch with  beaded stretch band for $20.  Guess what, next week she told me how it fell apart.

I have used Opalon stretch for a simple bracelet with a drop or two on the knot.  I forget the name of the cement but it is a small tube with a needle on the end for easy application.  It is about $5.00 and lasts quite a long time.

I have had many requests to make watches with beaded bands but I have not so far because I don't see any profit in it.  On the other hand, if you are doing it for gifts or charity and need a fast way, I guess thats the way to go.  But I would be afraid of the breakage and returns to redo them, ug!!!  Good Luck

Hi Robin, the name of the elastic is Opelon by Beadsmith. With this, you use a square knot and a drop or two of GS HYPO Cement which has the precision needle applicator.

The opelon is very strong but a little floppy to get through crystals,  you might need to use a needle or since I'm a dental hygienist  I use a "floss threader" if the hole is big enough.  Good luck, Carol R.

Thanks Carol for your helpful information. I just wanted to add the stock # of the G-S HYPO CEMENT #60-250.
