Hi Rachael!

If you are in Washington State we have some helpful info on our website...

Even if you are in another state there is some general info there that may help.  You can probably start at a nearby Chamber of Commerce or City Hall and ask for local information.
Let us know where you live and may be we can be more specific.

Hi all.. I am a Rice Artist who is just starting out and I need info regarding how to get a tax ID and purchase items for my business wholesale.  Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I see from your profile that you are in Alabama.  A quick Google search on "Alabama Sales Tax" came up with
http://www.ador.state.al.us/ as the home page for the Department of Revenue in your state.  Click on Business Licensing and Business Privilege tax categories to see what you need to do.

As a tip to other readers of this thread, you can often find local tax information by searching at www.google.com for a phrase _in quotes_ that applies to your area.
