Making art clay jewelry

I've only worked with borosilicate and moretti glass...and I just bought a lot of different art clay and tools and have no idea how to get started. I want to make a ring. after I have it shaped how long do I let it dry (I bought both lowfire and slowdry)? How long do I torch it?
I'm using a fiber blanket as my mom won't let me get a kiln. Do I just wrap the piece after it's fired in the blanket? Should it be molten orange when I wrap it in? or will it stick? Do I let it complelely get cooled down before I wrap it in?
I really have NO idea what I'm doing so as many tips as you can give would greatly be appreciated!

My apologies for taking so long to reply, I think some data got lost the last week or so.
I highy recommend a good read through the topics on this forum - lots of detailed answers to your questions are there
1] Slow Dry - needs to dry about 24 hrs - depending of course on your local humidity. You can test this by placing it on a mirror ot shiny, cold metal - give it a couple of seconds then slide it over - if it is still moist, a small halo of fog will for - when there is no halo - it should be dry enough
2] Torch firing depends on size and weight. generally for a small to medium size piece - 1 1/2 minutes at a middle orange color temperature.
3] If you are firing glass with Art Clay, this really should be fired in a kiln. What are you using to anneal your bead/ glass work?
4] Art Clay does not need to be blanketed if it is just the silver.
