Hi Peggy,

Yes, cutting and/or filing off the loop of the button shank, is pretty much your only way of attaching a post.

Then you can glue (or soft-solder) a flat-back post onto the new flat surface.

Hello, Rings-Things Members.

Does anyone have a suggestion for an earring post that can be used to make a shank button into a pierced earring?

Does the shank portion of the button need to be removed before the post can be attached to the button?

Thank you for any suggestions you might have.
