With designer/instructor Dina Fernandez "Altered art" uses found objects as canvases for artistic expression. Join Dina for a fun two hours of making your own "altered art." We'll start with dominos as our canvas (or base). Then we'll build our designs using decorative papers, beads, fibers, paint, buttons and charms to create personal, one-of-a-kind brooches or lapel pins. One of the most enjoyable parts of this class is rummaging through Dina's "treasure chest" of beads, baubles, papers, maps, books and other objects. Each person's individual style will shine through their finished piece! The class fee includes all materials as well as a random assortment of found objects (which may include puzzle pieces, paper, hardware, trinkets, tokens, baubles, seashells, computer components, ribbon, etc).

The pins pictured above were created by R&T staff. Materials pictured may be different from those available at the class.
Attendees should bring the following items to class: side cutters, an apron and latex gloves (we will be using paints and glues). Attendees can (optionally) also bring their own special beads, buttons, baubles, pictures or found objects to include in their designs. | |
