Sweet Sterling Silver Heart Earrings featuring Swarovski Crystals

Using five different shapes and colors of Swarovski crystals and four different styles of sterling silver heart charms or connectors I will create three unique pairs of romantic Valentine’s Day Earrings!

Follow the directions below to learn how to make all three pairs!

Earrings with Sterling Silver Heart Charms & Crystal Paradise Shine Swarovski Hearts

These earrings are the easiest of the three pairs to create. They have two sterling silver heart connectors, one solid and one with dots, two sizes of sterling silver jump rings, 6mm and 4mm, Swarovski 10mm heart pendants (I used crystal paradise shine color) , and sterling silver earring wires.

Using a pair of chain nose pliers connect the larger jump ring to the crystal and connector. Connect the two sterling connectors with the smaller size jump rings. Remember that when opening jump rings, separate the opening by twisting them open, not pulling them apart.

Attach the earring wires at the top of the earrings.

Completed sweet little heart earrings!

Earrings with Sterling Silver Filigree Hearts & Stacked Shades of Purple Swarovski Rondelles

These earrings require two 3-inch pieces of 22 gauge sterling silver or silver-filled wire, 6mm Swarovski crystal rondelles (I used Smoky Mauve, Crystal Antique Pink, and Amethyst) , sterling silver earring wires, and two sterling silver 4mm jump rings (I forgot to include in this photo) and the cutest sterling silver heart filigrees!

Create a small loop with your round nose pliers on end of the wire.

Wrap 3 coils down the wire, creating a wrapped loop.

Cut the wire with flush cutters and use chain nose pliers to pinch the cut wire flush.

Add the three rondelles.

Make a matching wrapped loop on the other side.

Attach the components with the small 4mm jump rings and attach the earring wires to the top.

Sweet little stacked Swarovski rondelle and filigree heart earrings!

Pretty sure these ones are my favorites! I love the way the rondelles go from dark to light!

Earrings with Sterling Silver Open Hearts & Wire Wrapped Ruby Swarovski Teardrops

These sweet little earrings use sterling silver earring wires, sweet little sterling silver open heart charms, 6mm sterling silver jump rings, Swarovski pears ( I used 16mm Ruby) and either 22 gauge sterling silver wire or silver filled wire.

To learn how to wire wrap a teardrop like this, see this blog. After wrapping the teardrops, attach the crystals to the hearts with the jump rings and attach the earring wires.

All three completed earrings! You can leave them shiny like this if you want……

Antique them! I always antique my work! Just use a little liver of sulfur gel to oxidize them black, then polish them with polishing pads, and ta-da! It really makes all the details pop!

Well I hope I have got you in the mood for some sparkly Swarovski heart earrings! ♥ Tiffany

I really want to try the wire wrap and antique it as shown. Will liver of sulfur and/or Novacan work on Artistic Wire?

      Hi D,
Liver of Sulfur and Novacan only work on raw (uncoated) metal such as bare copper, raw brass or sterling silver. Most Artistic Wire is coated, either to give a fun color that isn’t natural for copper, or to prevent tarnish.
Liver of Sulfur and Novacan effectively hasten the natural process of tarnish, but it sounds better to call it oxidation, antiquing, or patina. =) So anything that says it resists tarnish, won’t antique well.
