Though I have several strands of genuine amethyst in my supply stash, my favorite by far is a strand of Rings & Things lab-grown amethyst. The rich deep color is breath taking and the faceting of the large 10 mm beads create unbelievable sparkle. When I received the strand, with every intention of creating a sellable piece, I fell instantly in love and couldn't bear parting with it...now it's part of my own private collection. :)

I am so glad to see this. Sometimes it seems that amethyst is the underdog of the semi precious gems, being passed over for other beauties. I contribute this to not seeing many styles in amethyst beads - I rarely see faceted or briolete amethyst beads at shows.

I am counting down the days till June when ya'all are in town and I can get my hands on some of these!
