Spiral Skull Men's Necklace Tutorial
Created by: Polly Nobbs-LaRue
Cut 21" of stringing cable.
String the skull on the center, add 2 clam shell heishi beads to each side, add 2 matching brown coconut heishi beads to each side, then string another 8-9" of clam shell heishi on each side. For a men's necklace, aim for a finished length (before clasp) of 18-19.5".
Loosen the screw on one side of the stainless steel magnetic clasp with the screwdriver found in the kit.
Insert one end of the necklace cable to make sure cable goes in past the screw. Loosen the screw more if it doesn't. Add a dab of BeadFix™ to the end of the stringing cable, insert into clasp, then tighten screw.
Scoot beads together to remove excess slack from necklace. Loosen the screw in the other half of the magnetic clasp. See how far cable goes into the clasp. Make sure it goes past the screw. Trim the excess cable. Test again, making sure necklace isn't too tight or too slack. Add a dab of BeadFix to the end of the cable, insert into clasp, and tighten screw.
Design Note: As of 08-2013, the current stock of the 29-062 clamshell heishi is 24". If it later returns to 16", and you want to make a 20" necklace, just add a few extra of the brown coconut heishi to make the finished necklace longer.
