Like a burst of color of New Year's fireworks, these earrings use Swarovski crystal beads and flat backs and are a modern version of Lewis Segal's classic and collectible clip-on earrings from the 1960's. Created by: Amy Mickelson
Place the flat back crystals flat-side up on a work surface.
Mix two-part epoxy according to the package directions.
Use a toothpick to apply a small amount of epoxy to the flat pad of each earring post and glue each to the center of a flat back crystal. Set aside to cure.
Mix more epoxy and glue each drop loop on the flat backs. The hole of these round drop loops allows you to place them over the already glued on post. Allow these to cure.
Add one 6mm round crystal to a ball-end head pin and finish with a simple loop using the 1-step looper. Repeat this to create a total of 36 simple loop dangles. This will give you a good chance to perfect your technique using this tool.
Add a 8mm rondelle shaped crystal to each 2" ball-end head pin.
Slide on 18 crystal dangles to each head pin, add another 8mm rondelle, top with a gold color seed bead, and finish with a simple loop.
To complete the earring, open this loop and attach it to the loop of the round drop loop which you glued onto the back of the flat back crystal.
Since these earrings are heavy, secure them on your ear with earring backs that have a flange.
