Grape Hyacinth Brooch Tutorial
Created by: Mollie Valente
Create the BRONZclay™ brooch according to the manufacturer's instructions. Like most other metal clays, BRONZclay must be fired in a kiln. BRONZclay™ shrinks approximately 20% from package to finished product. When you create your pieces, keep this in mind.
If you don't have a kiln, try replicating this project using Art Clay™ Silver (ACS) and fire with a torch.
Use a decorative rubber stamp (or texture plate such as #87-057-09) to create a design in the BRONZclay™.
Wire wrap a loop on top of the moondrop and make a right-angle bend.
Patina the brass wire with Win-Ox and wire-wrap a cone shape (round-nose pliers make a good form); slip this over the headpin loop.
Attach the moondrop crystal with a jump ring.
Use an adhesive dot to attach the pin back; for a more permanent attachment use 2-part epoxy (#60-230).
