Fall Festival Necklace Tutorial
Created by: Polly Nobb-LaRue
Find matching pairs of the resin beads and African brass beads. String desired 11-12" pattern on Beadalon stringing cable.
Add a crimp bead and Wire Guardian, string back through the crimp bead, and firmly flatten the crimp. Trim excess cable. (Optional: Add a 4mm crimp cover.)
Pull tight. Giving yourself about 2" extra at the end, cut cable off the spool, add crimp bead and Wire Guardian, go back through the crimp bead, and flatten firmly. Carefully trim excess cable.
Use the small round links on the chain, like you would use jump rings: Use 2 pairs of flat-nose pliers to open a small round link at the end of the chain, and attach to one Wire Guardian. Measure approximately 5" of chain, open another small link and attach it to the other Wire Guardian.
About 2" from one end, open another small round link, and attach it to the swivel end of the clasp.
The other end of the swivel clasp can hook into any oval link, making this an adjustable necklace.
Optional: Add an orange bead, tiny bead cap, 2 more orange beads, and 5 tiny ruby red seed beads from the TOHO mix to a head pin, and make a wire-wrapped loop. Open the end (oval) link on the chain to add this wire-wrapped loop. Close securely, following the jump ring instructions on the Jewelry-Making Tips sheet.
Optional: Use a cotton swab to dab a bit of Win-Ox™ on the Wire Guardians, to help them match the oxidation of the rest of the brass on the necklace. Wait about 30 seconds, then rinse, and pat dry.
