Eternal Summer Ring Tutorial
Created by: Cindy Morris
Use shears to cut a 3" long piece of copper. File the corners and edges until everything is smooth and rounded. (Sharp-edged rings aren't fun to wear!)
Stamp a word or phrase on the metal strip. Patina if desired.
Use the ring-bending pliers to curve the strip into a ring, overlapping edges at least 1/4". Check size. Adjust larger or smaller if necessary. (A metal ring mandrel and nylon or rawhide hammer work best.)
Mark the spot to punch. Keeping edges of ring carefully aligned, use the cutting end of 1/16" riveting tool to punch hole through both layers of the ring. This requires a firm grip on the ring and tool. Follow manufacturer's instructions when unscrewing the tool.
From the inside of the ring, thread the eyelet through both layers, then add the flowers, and use the eyelet flaring attachment to flare the eyelet to desired tightness. Be careful not to crack the enamel (glass) on the flowers.
