Crimp tubes are almost identical to crimp beads. Some crimp tubes are longer, which can give you more crimping surface for extra security. Crimp tubes, just like crimp beads, are designed for securing the ends of jewelry stringing cable. To finish a necklace or bracelet with crimp tubes:
- String a crimp tube onto the beading cable, then string a clasp.
- Loop the cable back through the crimp tube.
- Tighten up the loop. Use use flat-nose pliers to firmly flatten the crimp.
- Trim the excess cable.
- If desired, use crimping pliers to close a crimp cover over the crimp tube.
